Enhancing Your Pet’s Quality of Life with Compassionate In-Home Consultations
Making the decision to euthanize a pet is one of the most difficult decisions a family can make. Our compassionate team at Caring Hands Pet Hospice is here to guide you through this difficult time. We will help you determine when the time is right to consider euthanasia or natural death based on a personalized quality of life (QOL) assessment. Our focus is on allowing your pet to live their life as fully as possible for as long as they are able. During hospice visits, we discuss things that all animals need (comfort, food, water, and good hygiene), as well as what makes your pet “happy.” The quality-of-life scale provides a way to evaluate all these factors over time and allows us to determine when saying a gentle goodbye may be the best thing for your pet.
It is recommended to complete the QOL scale daily, weekly, or monthly at first. Having different family members complete the QOL scale can be beneficial, especially having extended family complete the QOL scale to gain an objective perspective of your pet’s condition. If you wish to schedule a QOL assessment appointment, call us at (832) 856-1617 or email info@caringhandspethospice.com. You must provide copies of your pet’s medical records at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to allow our team ample time to review their medical history. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling.
Please note that all appointments require a $100 deposit to hold the appointment. Additionally, we do not provide services for aggressive pets due to our doctor’s physical limitations.
